Question: Is there actually any health benefits to being vegetarian?

Honestly, people think that being vegan/ vegetarian is healthy and safe. But, we were made to eat meat. Whether they like it or not we're supposed to eat chicken, steak and all that stuff to stay healthy. Eating only vegetables will make you sick and weak because your not getting the nutrition that your supposed to have when you eat meat. |

No there are not. Vegetarians will say yes, but that's just because they have an agenda. For example, The American Heart Association recommends eating at least 2 servings of fish a week. But vegetarians don't eat fish or meat. They are missing out on some of the best sources of complete protein. |

Hey :), There an hundreds of benefits of being a vegetarian from weight loss to reduced risk of cancer and stuff like that. There's a book called the china study you can read if your interested. |

If anything, eating meat in fair quantities will be way more beneficial. We need meat. We as humans are designed to eat meat. It's what keeps us healthy. |

Yes there are. I became vegetarian four years ago and feel better than I ever have in my whole life. Although I care about animals, the biggest reason for doing it is to keep healthy. It is proven that most vegetarians have a lower and healthier BMI than non vegetarians. Vegetarianism lowers the risk of cancer and heart disease. Vegetarian children supposedly grow taller and have higher IQ's than non vegetarians. Apparently we also have stronger immune systems. There really is A TON of benefits to becoming vegetarian but it's a lifestyle that some can't really give up meat to live. :) |
