You want to know what your problem is? You're not eating enough. Analogy time - if you wanted to drive 600 miles, could you do it on only 2 gallons of gas? Of course not! That's what you're doing. Calories are energy, just like fuel. You're running on just a THIRD of the fuel it takes you to get through a day. As a result, your body is shutting down. It thinks you're in a starving situation, even though it's your own decision. Your metabolism has slowed down to help you survive. You don't have a thyroid problem. You have problem with calories. You need to eat at LEAST 1500 calories a day of HEALTHY calories (i.e. fruits, veggies, whole wheats, lean proteins), more if you exercise. As long as you remain in the starvation mode, you won't be able to lose weight. You'll start gaining weight. Now, when you start to eat again, you'll also start to gain more weight. However, you need to get that metabolism up. After a few weeks, you'll find that exercising is easier. |

You're starving yourself. Your body isn't getting the energy it needs from food, so it's holding on to your fat stores for dear life. Eat 1500 calories a day and exercise and you'll see fat loss. |

You probably need to eat more. Your metabolism will come to a screeching halt to conserve your body mass if it detects that you are not eating enough calories to sustain your body during the day. I would recommend getting on a website so you can track calories eaten against calories used. You can calculate your BMR - the calories you burn each day being alive, and then calculate a REASONABLE weight loss goal of 2 to 3 pounds per week. Exercise is key so that you don't lose muscle, walking 30 minutes 3 to 5 times a week minimum will help. Protein is also important, but not as important as good healthy food choices overall. Cut down and eventually out of your diet - processed foods (white foods), sodas (diet or full calorie) and reduce salt. Add whole grains (they are nutritionally rich and filling), vegetables and fruits. I am not affiliated with, nor do I like promoting websites since most people that do are spammers, but I have used many free and paid sites and have found FitDay to be one of the best. Give it a try, it shows you exactly how many calories to restrict your diet to for REASONABLE weight loss. Reasonable is important, because if you lose the weight in a sustainable way, then you can maintain your weight after the initial loss and avoid yo-yo dieting which some people believe is worse that being 40 pounds overweight. |

Maybe because ur starving yourself. You need to have a well balance meal. In the Morning, eat cereal with skim milk, and make sure the cereal is not artificial. Or have a banana with toast with light butter and real juice. two hours later have a snack bar, two hours later, a salad with tomatoes, grill chicken etc, two hours later, an apple or some sort of fruit, two hours later, rice, grill chicken salad, or healthy low sodium soup,. Also, incorporate 30-90 Min's of workout everyday. Run for 30 Min's, join a gym, etc. This is a healthy way of living. not starving yourself. When you do starve yourself, your metabolism gets slower, and usually after a while u tend to binge. So i would recommend, eating healthy foods, small meals every two hours and doing cardio. If you start running everyday 5 times a day for 30 Min's straight, in three months you will lose weight. If you do not do this and you continue to starve yourself, you will stay the same.. good luck |

In order to boost your metabolism to promote weight loss, you'll need to increase your calorie intake to about 1500, no less than 1200. It may seem difficult, but try sneaking in extra healthy fats and calories, found in nuts and nut butters, flax, avocados, and other healthy foods. Eating five small meals a day instead of just 3 may help you add in some much needed calories and keep your metabolism revved. |
