Question: My friend gained weight.?
(Posted by: Ally Kat on 2010-03-10 15:23:07)
My friend has been complaining of gaining like 15 pounds. She is not pregnant and she is not gorging food. She wants to lose the weight, but she cant go to the gym because she is still in high school and gets too much homework to do it after school. She can devote 1 hr a day and 3 hrs in the weekend to walk, run, etc. Can you give me advise that i can tell her? |

Healthy weight loss is between 2-5 pounds per week. To accomplish this she needs to burn more calories than she takes in, this is accomplished by proper diet and exercise. It is important to become a “label reader” she should read the nutrition facts on the label of all foods that she eats.and she should ever go over 10 percent fat calories versus regular calories in any food and keep her carbohydrates as low as possible. Without getting into a lot of complicated scenarios, let me give you a couple of simple tips for her. Watch the Fat Calories. Drastically cut back on Junk Food. (total elimination would be better) Exercise as often as possible and stay active more than she lays sits around she should try to Find a physical activity that she enjoys and do it often. the one hour a day she has should be fine. Cut back on the coke's/ Sodas. these pack on pounds. Here's a couple of links that will show how many calories are burned through Various types of exercise. caloriesperhour.com/ index_burn.php csgnetwork.com/ caloriesactburned.html If I can be of any further help just click on my profile and shoot me an e-mail. if I cant answer your question, I will point you to a link that will. You are a good friend and she is lucky to have you. |

We'll has your friend gained weight over the course of a short period or has it been over a long course? She could have also gained in height and or muscle. Tell your friend not to be obsessed over it. She might be okay depending with her height and agse and bone density ect... If anything she should just do light excersises like walking about 30 min per day. She could walk to school ect... Tell her not to fret, her weight will probably even out eventually. |
